Architectural Drafter

DUTIES:
Create construction documents and presentations for an architectural firm focused on accessory dwelling units, additions, single family and multi-family residences, and commercial buildings. Duties will include using software Revit to create architectural plans, AutoCAD to create structural plans, SketchUp to create sketches and details, Lumion to create 3D rendering and visualization, and Revu to create a full set of plans; preparing site measurements for as built drawings; obtaining building permits with Building and Safety Divisions; drawing structural features and details for buildings and other construction projects; designing plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software; drawing rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data; tracking construction documents to ensure they meet environmental, safety, structural, zoning and aesthetic standards; scheduling various stages of the building process according to client needs; and working under the supervision of engineers or architects.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology, Architecture or a related field such as Drafting; and six (6) months of experience in the job offered or as an Architectural Drafter Intern. Also requires six (6) months of experience with or knowledge* of building materials and engineering principles and practices to complete architectural drawings; architectural software Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion and Revu; compliance with California Building Code and American Disabilities Act rules and regulations; and preparing presentations to graphically represent building plans; and drawing detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures.
